Britain has a reputation for beautiful gardens which attract followers from all over the world. It’s easy to see why. Trace the development of gardens over the centuries as we visit a variety of gardens. From Scotland through Wales, and right down to the South West or South East corner of Britain there are gardens showcasing the most wonderful displays. We could visit Inverewe Gardens in Scotland, unexpectedly lush as a result of the Gulf Stream. Then there is Bodnant in Wales founded in 1874 and developed by five generations of one family.
Hidcote was the first set out as if a series of rooms in the 1920s. And Sissinghurst in Kent is the spectacular creation of Vita Sackville-West with its famous White Garden or nearby Scotney Castle with its stunning azaleas.
